BIO

Bioenergy is a form of renewable energy produced by burning biomass. Biomass is organic matter from forest and organic residues and can be the primary energy for the production of electricity. Bioenergy can be used to meet the demand for renewable energy by producing electricity. The development of technology has contributed to the construction of high power biomass units for power generation with high efficiencies and better economic results saving millions of tons of CO2 emissions every year.

The benefits

of Biomass

BENEFITS

The very important benefit of biomass is the ability to control power generation, since it does not have the character of intermittent production like solar and wind energy. Precisely for this reason and unlike wind and solar energy, it does not need storage.

Biomass is a critical step on our path to decarbonisation while maintaining a high level of security of supply. At our bioenergy plants, we generate electricity and heat using biomass and biogas, providing clean and reliable energy. At FGRID we recognized early on the impact biomass had on creating a greener future and since biomass is sustainably sourced it is considered a CO2 neutral fuel because it emits the same amount of CO2 from combustion as it absorbs during growth . In the Greek territory, our company has licensed 2 MW of biomass.

At FGRID we ensure that our future wealth and development as a society can be realized in an environmentally sustainable way with zero CO2 emissions.
